A Final Word

Thanks to all .. Just think about what we did ... how we laughed .. how we cried .. the friends we made .. the things we learned .. what we saw .. lessons we learned and memories for a lifetime. Thanks so much to all the leaders for their hard work with so little sleep, trust from all the parents back home, and the positive ENERGY of all the kids. MAMS ROCKS!! What a week.

Some Closing Posts

Today is the last day of the freedom tour and we are all very tired. Today we went to Rockefeller center and saw the TODAY show which was very exciting. We all got to see Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira and some of us got to have the pleasure to shake their hands. If you were watching the show this morning then you might have scene that a couple of us were on it but not all. Right now we are driving homeward bound and as I look to the back of the bus I see people sleeping and talking very softly. This is very unusual for our bus because we are the party bus, we sing, we dance, and we are known for it by the other buses. Over all this trip has been very fun and I have learned a ton of stuff about history but most important, I had a lot of fun just hanging with friends. Nothing beats hanging with friends. I would like to thank all the people that put this together so I could have this unforgettable experience.

Our last day…so sad. We woke up at the crack of dawn at 5:30am. We were on the Today’s show and we walked around NYC. Our last event we did was the Apollo theatre. The tour guide was hilarious and had met a lot of the famous singers. He took us on a tour of the theatre. The last thing we did was an amateur performance. He had ten acts come up and perform. Everybody sang. We had a blast! The tradition was though that every time someone comes up and performs they have to rub the magic stump before they started their act. The guy had a stump on a pedestal. We had rappers, hip hop, Broadway, and dancing. Everybody did a good job and were very brave. It was a very fun last event. Overall this trip has the best time of my 8th grade life. You get to experience and see different things and people and you get to spend time with friends. We will be home in about 6 hours See you then!

Today was the last day… But one of the best, we started our day in New Jersey and ended in New York.
The first thing we did today was we went on the Today Show. It was funny because two of the kids Tommy and Dan got a hug and kiss on the check from Meredith the lady from the news. We went to the Rockefeller center. My favorite thing about it was the sites you could see from up high like the empire state building and stuff like that. We also went walking around New York, We went places in Times Square there we went to the M&M store, the big toys r us which had more sugar then you could imagine . The last place we went before we hit the road was the Apollo Theater. People got to sing and dance the people were quite good. The man who helped us was very nice. Were on our way home can’t wait to go to Maine. We have 6 hours on the bus See everyone then Bye .

My Week

The most memorable historical spot I visited this week was the Holocaust Museum because it reminded me what the Holocaust must have been like for Daniel, a Jewish boy growing up during the war. He lived but his family did not live. If it was up to me, I would change this part of history where Adolph Hitler eliminated many of the Jewish people. What he did was evil.

I learned that Abraham Lincoln was important in the Civil War. He was president during the war. After the war, he was killed by someone who didn’t like him. Some day I would like to go back to Little Round Top in Gettysburg with my children because I think they might find it interesting.

On our last day of the Freedom Tour we went to the Apollo theatre and I sang Oklahoma in front of an audience but I didn’t think I could do it. I did it and I felt really proud afterwards.
