I finally made it, all the way, to New York without hearing the ever so famous question.
“Are we they’re yet?” Amazing, right? Well that’s not the biggest thing even. A group played tag at a Picnic Stop, the grass was a green as the pine trees, and no one got hurt. I find that amazing. Rare, a diamond hidden in the ruff.
Then we got to New York. In Harlem, we learned about the graffiti, from inside the bus. Come to find out there are 3 types of graffiti. Tagging, which is simple. Throw up, that’s the more complex type, and memorial. I think that last one doesn’t need explanation. After that we got to go Wall Street and that area. The weather was chilly, and it was really windy. My hair was hitting my face, and my hair is short. Most of the other students found the subway vents the most exciting thing in the world.
When we finished there we went to Ground Zero. There wasn’t much at the actual place (sadly); But St. Paul’s Chapel was full of information. You could light candles in memory of the fallen and learn out the relief effort. It was emotional and fact that people could (and were) praying added to the effect. Katz’s Deli was different from what I thought it would be. Seating was crazy and it was almost impossible to find a seat. We learned that the food was kosher and everyone had different feeling about the place. Some loved it, some didn’t.
